Q: Am I required to have my vehicle repaired at a Body Shop specified by
my Insurance Company?
A: No, you have the right to have your vehicle repaired at the Body Shop facility
of your choice. You may be approached or your business solicited by a "collision
chaser". Should you authorize the services of a "collision chaser" for repair or tow services, you are accepting responsibility for all costs. Keep in mind your
Insurance Company may not cover these costs.
Q: Do I have to visit my Insurance Company's Drive-In Claims Centre to get an
estimate?
A: If your vehicle is safe to drive, you may be asked by your Insurance Company
to make an appointment at one of their Drive-Ins for an inspection by one of their
Appraisers. They will give you an estimate which is to be given to the Repair
Facility of your choice. Alternatively, you could leave your vehicle at the Slessor
Body Shop and request your Insurance Company inspect it there.
Q: Why are there differences in estimates I get from one Body Shop to another?
A: A lower estimate may not include all necessary work or use non-genuine
automaker parts.
Q: Does Slessor negotiate with Insurance Companies differences found with the
repairs on my vehicle?
A: Yes, Slessor is a Direct Repair Facility for some Insurance Companies. This
means either the Insurance Company will send an Appraiser to the Slessor Body
Shop to inspect your vehicle, or ask that we simply e-mail our estimate to them for approval. Direct Repair Facilities such as Slessor can negotiate differences in less
time.
Q: What is an Insurance Deductible?
A: An Insurance Deductible is the maximum amount you pay for your vehicle's
repair. Your Insurance Company then pays the remaining amount owing to repair
your vehicle. You must pay your deductible in order for your Insurance Company
to pay the rest.
Q: Who do I pay my Insurance Deductible to?
A: The deductable is always paid to a Repair Facility such as Slessor after the
completion of the repair.
Q: How long will it take to finish the repairs on my vehicle?
A: Factors that affect the time to finish a repair include parts availability, hidden
damage, and Insurance Company authorization. The Slessor Body Shop will make
every effort to repair your vehicle in a timely manner and keep you informed on its
progress.
Q: Do you offer a written warranty?
A: Yes, the Slessor Body Shop has a Limited Lifetime Warranty on all repairs to
your vehicle.
Q: Does my Insurance Company offer warranty on repairs to my vehicle?
A: No, warranty on repairs to your vehicle is available only through the Repair
Facility.
Q: Where can I rent a vehicle while I wait for my vehicle to be finished?
A: At Slessor there is an on-site Enterprise-Rent-A-Car office.
Q: What are your hours of operation?
A: The Slessor Body Shop is open Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:00pm.
